The Caretaker Minister of Energy, Rossen Hristov and the Mayor of Burgas, Dimitar Nikolov, inspected today the implementation of the project of Burgas Municipality for for implementation of renewable energy sources for heating and cooling by using geothermal energy in the building of nursery №3.
The implementation of the project in the building will significantly improve energy efficiency, comfort and the conditions for raising and developing children in the nursery.
“We still have ready technical projects for children’s educational institutions, with which we can apply for the implementation of renewable energy sources if appropriate programs are available,” said Mayor Nikolov.
Nursery No. 3 was built in 1962 and has a capacity for 190 children. The building is heated with old cast iron radiators with hot water as a heat carrier through a combined natural gas and diesel water heating boiler. The boiler plant is morally obsolete and has exhausted its resource.
The project envisages the construction of a geothermal heat pump installation and the reconstruction of the heating installation of the building of the children’s institution, which will be used for heating and cooling the building, through the constant temperature of the ground, as a source of heat and cold.
During the meeting at the nursery, Minister Hristov expressed his support for similar projects, such as the one implemented in it, saying that the expectations for a reduction in heating and cooling bills could reach 80%.
